Ty Springer elected President of Florida Feed Association

Ocala, Florida, July 13, 2019 – Ocala Breeders’ Feed and Supply General Manager, Ty Springer, elected President of the Florida Feed Association board on July 12, 2019, at the annual meeting.  The annual meeting enables all members to come together to hear informative speakers on various feed industry topics and to enjoy time together as an association.

The annual meeting held at the Lido Beach Resort on Lido Key in Sarasota, Florida, July 10-13, 2019.  Springer served on their board as the First Vice-President for the 2018-2019 term.

The Florida Feed Association is a non-profit organization works diligently to assist members in providing their utmost service to feed product consumers, and to consumers in allied industries. They encourage the development of friendly relations between all segments of the feed and related industries, such as transport, packaging, equipment, marketing, insurance, and laboratory analysis.

The association has a legislative committee that is extremely active with the Department of Agriculture, as well as the legislature. This is one of the most important benefits of membership – and one of the association’s most important functions. The association maintains a Legislative Legal Advisor under contract to ensure proper information about all legislative issues. Their Legislative Committee monitors legislation affecting the industry, initiates beneficial legislation, and works to prevent harmful laws from being enacted.  Also, the Association receives regular reports from the legal advisor, which are shared.

In addition to providing resources to feed-related businesses, the Florida Feed Association supports our industry’s future. They provide students with Scholarships and Charitable Contributions Program.  They are also an active member of the American Feed Industry Association.

Springer has worked in the feed industry for over 20 years.  He became General Manager of Ocala Breeders’ Feed and Supply in July of 2014.
